Overcoming FEAR

When we have and pursue a dream there are many things that will limit us and ultimately stop us (if we allow them) from reaching our dream. But they all boil down into one word: FEAR. Our fear hold us back, and always will if we let it. I don’t believe we can ever get rid of being afraid, but we can over come our fears. Here are a 5 things (using fear itself) in order to get last fear.

Face the Truth – The truth hurts, that’s a reality. But we must confront it, because if we are unrealistic about what is going on around us, and what needs to be done, we aren’t dreaming we are living in a fantasy world. Unless you face the truth you won’t know what you need to do.

Erase Negative Thoughts – negativity is powerful, it spreads and corrupts, if you allow it to, it will infect every part of your thinking and make you a pessimistic. So we need to get rid of it, but changing the way we think.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Philippians 4:8 

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

Allow Change – Change is something that we naturally resist. Why? Because we become comfortable in life and we want to stay where we are, when change comes along, it tries move us out of that comfort we have come to know and love. And that creates fear, because we are facing something unfamiliar. There is something we have to realize though, change is not bad. Change is good, change is growth, it is moving forward. When we allow change to take place through our lives, it won’t be so threatening when we face it.

Rest – Stress is the source of so many problems, sickness, and more in the lives of people today. We become so busy and pile so many things on our to do lists that we burn ourselves out and drive ourselves crazy! But God didn’t intend us to live that way, to drown ourselves every moment of everyday with busyness! God gave us an example to follow, when after creating the whole universe, he decide to rest. He didn’t need it but he wanted to show us that work is good, but we need to rest. Because when we don’t we are tired, we become paranoid, afraid of our own shadows, and overwhelmed by everything, and that will help nurture fear.

Secure Yourself in God – We must secure our everything in God, because he is the one that created us and planned the purpose for our lives. He is our solid rock and foundation, and when we scute our identity in God, our fears don’t seem that big anymore. Because we are his children, because he can do anything, so why should we be afraid.

Overcome your fears and pursue your dreams.
